About
Passion. Experience. Diligence.
Stefan Adrogué Gustafson
Founder & Chair
Stefan is a 15 year-old young man that lives in Houston, Texas with his family and his three loyal dogs. He enjoys baseball tremendously and watches and plays it whenever he gets the chance, so Slugging Statistics perfectly suits all of his pastimes. He served as the Rice Owls baseball bat boy for seven years, working in over 200 games, accumulating a knowledge of the game through his attentiveness in a dugout managed by coaching legend, Wayne Graham. Creating a curriculum based off of statistics and other baseball knowledge caters to Stefan’s adoration of baseball as a whole, as well as his awareness for the importance of education and giving back generally. As a result, he takes great pride in Slugging Statistics and its inaugural summer camp for SpringSpirit in June 2019.
Mathematics are a key force in sports and are used regularly in his everyday life. Stefan has recognized the importance of mathematics not just for himself, but also for the young child or young adult that may not enjoy it or may not have the benefit of being as engaged or as exposed to the subject. Stefan loves helping others and looking out for everyone. He is also a tremendous fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Rice Owls. Currently enrolled at St. John’s School, Stefan is finishing up his first year of high school, and loves to play baseball for SJS. He also enjoys going to Rice games and watching his Red Sox play every night that he can. A math-based baseball camp is combining the best of both worlds for Stefan, and, in the end, is helping others, which truly is his passion.
